TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Instructions before the treatment
First you have an intake interview with the specialist. He or she explains the laser treatment procedure and you receive instructions about the measures that you must take before and after the treatment. These measures are needed to ensure the best possible result. You will also receive a bag with proper nail care essentials (see ‘proper nail care essentials’).
Treatment starts at the next appointment. Before the first treatment we recommend that you cut your fungus nails as short as possible and gently file them smooth and as thin as possible. Sometimes we recommend that you make an appointment with a podiatrist. During the treatment period we advise against the use of nail polish.

Instructions after the treatment
For a lasting result it is important that you prevent nail fungus after treatment. Therefore please abide by the following ground rules until you have healthy nails once again.

•  Apply the anti-fungal drops around all nails and nail cuticles.
•  Cut your nails short once a week and, if needed, smooth them with a file. Remove ‘dead ‘skin around your nails with a nailbrush.
•  Treat all your shoes with anti-fungal spray at least once a month.
•  Wash your socks on 60º C. If this is not possible, please treat your socks with an anti-fungal spray after washing.
When you once again have healthy nails, it is important to prevent new fungal infections from occurring. You can do this by:
•  Properly drying your feet, including between your toes;
•  Wearing flip-flops in public spaces such as shower rooms, saunas, and pools.

If a fungal infection reoccurs, treat it with anti-fungal cream/ drops.
